Our generator always packed up whenever there was something important to do with it. It was the Olympic night and our generator had packed up again. There was no way I could watch the opening ceremony, and I had heard a day before that an estimated one billion people would watch the ceremony. I sat alone, brooding over it when I heard the rough sound of a generator. I dashed out of the compound to know whose generator it was. It was Emeka's generation, three houses away. I thought about it: Emeka could not reject me. I had been his Yoruba friend for over a year and a valued customer at that.
Emeka's shop was the largest drug and variety shop in the whole estate, with iron bars protecting its entrance. It looked like a prison. When I got to there, there were two men sitting inside. I called on Emeka.
"Emeka!" I called. He came out. His Ama Kip Kip shone under the bright white bulb.
"Victor," he said "how far na?"
"Emeka, abeg, shey you dey show that Olympic opening ceremony."
"Yes na!" He said as he unlocked the iron gate.
"Hope market dey go well?" I entered the shop. I greeted the two men already seated. I sat beside them. My face was glued to the small Sharp television. The ceremony had already started. The artificial cloud, beds, village were also there, with people dancing and singing. Also, Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling read an except from the famous British book, Peter Pan. I also saw Harry Potter's Voldemort. It was lovely. Despite the amount of mosquitoes feasting on my leg, I didn't move. I was amazed. I was amazed at the way a whole stadium was turned into a village, hospital, a big factory and musical stage. I just had to wonder.
"No African country can host the Olympics oo," said one of the men. I watched them as they argued it out.
"Tell me one African country that has all these resources and facilities, tell me." The other man said.
"South Africa can host it now. They have all these facilities."
"Oh! What about Nigeria?"
"Oh please"
I didn't look at them. They were old enough to be my uncles. They both looked at me. They had probably thought I would say something about the issue, but I kept mum.
It was as if I had seen a ghost when Mr Bean appeared on the screen, performing "Chariots of Fire" with the London Symphony Orchestra. I was amazed. Emeka and the other two men opened their mouths, dazzled. Mr Bean was a funny character whose movies I had watched when I was younger. My father used to call him "The Baba Suwe of London". His real name was Rowan Atkinson. The ceremony continued and the mosquitoes in Emeka's shop were in their season of songs, singing to my ears.
People from different countries started coming out with different attires and flags. The Greek delegation opened the floor. I did not even know countries like Coke Island, Fiji and Liechtenstein existed until that night. Everyone in the shop was waiting for Nigeria's turn to be called. The letter "N" was still far. As soon as Nigeria was called, I adjusted my posture. The Nigerian team started dancing like a freed prisoner. The flag bearer, in his green cap and white buba, was in front flaunting the green and white flag of Nigeria. Other members, male and female, danced as if they were in a burial ceremony. The females amongst them, in their green head gears and white skirts and blouses, could not hide their joy as they banged their legs on the ground of the Olympic Stadium. The men also danced, some wore sun shades, others did not. None of them danced Azonto, I was disappointed.
"But no be sun shade be that?" Emeka said.
"Na so we see am o." I said, wondering how they could have worn a sun shade at night.
"Our people sha," said of the men, "how can he put on a sun shade at night?"
We looked on. David Beckham, a footballer, my kid brother's hero, appeared on a boat with the Olympic touch. He passed it to one old white man. The man, amidst cheers, carried the Olympic touch into the stadium and passed it to six British athletes who lit up the Olympic Cauldron, pointing to the sky above the stadium. Later, the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth 2, declared the Olympics open. She said, "I declare open the Games of London, celebrating the 30th Olympiad of the modern era."
Fireworks flew out of the stadium to the sky in different colours and sizes. I could not be more satisfied.
As I was about going home, Emeka said, "We go see wetin Nigeria go bring come home."

Nigerians Are The Most Educated Immigrants In USA
Nigerian immigrants have the highest levels of education in this city and the nation, surpassing whites and Asians, according to Census data bolstered by an independent analysis of 13 annual Houston-area surveys conducted by Rice University and commissioned by the Chronicle. Nigerian Americans have long been known for their community’s intense cultural emphasis on education, and now an analysis of Census data coupled with several local surveys shows that Nigerians don’t just value education, but surpass all other U.S. ethnic groups when it comes to obtaining degrees.
For Woodlands resident David Olowokere, one of Nigeria’s sons, having a master’s degree in engineering just wasn’t enough for his people back home. So he got a doctorate. His wife, Shalewa, a civil engineer, didn’t stop at a bachelor’s, either. She went for her master’s. The same obsession with education runs in the Udeh household in Sugar Land. Foluke Udeh and her husband, Nduka, both have master’s degrees.
Anything less, she reckons, would have amounted to failure. “If you see an average Nigerian family, everybody has a college degree these days,” said Udeh, 32, a physical therapist at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Centre. “But a postgraduate degree, that’s like pride for the family.” Nigerian immigrants have the highest levels of education in this city and the nation, surpassing whites and Asians, according to Census data bolstered by an independent analysis of 13 annual Houston-area surveys conducted by Rice University and commissioned by the Chronicle.
Although they make up a tiny portion of the U.S. population, a whopping 17 per cent of all Nigerians in this country held master’s degrees while four per cent had a doctorate, according to the 2006 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, 37 per cent had bachelor’s degrees. In comparison To put those numbers in perspective, eight per cent of the white population in the U.S. had master’s degrees, according to the Census survey. And one per cent held doctorates.
About 19 per cent of white residents had bachelor’s degrees. Asians come closer to the Nigerians with 12 per cent holding master’s degrees and three per cent having doctorates. The Nigerian numbers are “strikingly high,” said Roderick Harrison, demographer at the Joint Centre for Political and Economic Studies, a Washington, D.C., think tank that specializes in researching black issues. “There is no doubt that these are highly educated professionals who are probably working in the petrochemical, medical and business sectors in Houston.”
Harrison analyzed the census data for the Houston Chronicle Stephen Klineberg, a sociologist at Rice University who conducts the yearly Houston Area Survey, suspects the percentage of Nigerian immigrants with postgraduate degrees is higher than Census data shows. Of all the Nigerian immigrants he reached in his random phone surveys 1994 through 2007 — 45 households total — Klineberg said 40 per cent of the Nigerians said they had postgraduate degrees. “These are higher levels of educational attainment than were found in any other…community,” Klineberg said. There are more than 12,000 Nigerians in Houston, according to the latest Census data, a figure sociologists and Nigerian community leaders say is a gross undercount.
They believe the number to be closer to 100,000. Staying in school The reasons Nigerians have more postgraduate degrees than any other racial or ethnic group are largely due to Nigerian society’s emphasis on mandatory and free education. Once immigrating to the U.S., practical matters of immigration laws get in the way. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 made it easier for Africans to enter the U.S., but mostly as students or highly skilled professionals — not through family sponsorships, Klineberg said.
So many Africans pursue higher levels of education as an unintended consequence of navigating the tricky minefield of immigration, said Amadu Jacky Kaba, an associate professor at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, who has done research on African immigrants in the U.S. “In a way, it’s a Catch-22 — because of immigration laws you are forced to remain in school, but then the funny thing is you end up getting your doctorate at the age of 29,” Kaba said. “If you stay in school, immigration will leave you alone.” Although Kaba, who teaches Africana Studies, is not from Nigeria (he is Liberian), he said he, too, found himself pursuing a master’s and then a doctorate to remain in this country legally. But not all Africans have to go this route.
Some say their motivation is driven by their desire to overcome being a double minority: Black and African. Take Oluyinka Olutoye, 41, associate professor of pediatric surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He came to this country already as a medical doctor but decided to pursue his doctorate in anatomy to help set himself apart. “Being black, you are already at a disadvantage,” said Olutoye, whose wife, Toyin, is an anesthesiologist at Baylor. “You really need to excel far above if you want to be considered for anything in this country.” Family expectations All this talk of education creates high expectations for children of Nigerian immigrants.
The eldest child of David Olowokere, chairman of the engineering technologies department at Texas Southern University, for example, is already working on her master‘s degree in public health in Atlanta; the middle child is pursuing a bachelor’s in pre-medicine. His youngest, a son, attends The Woodlands High School. He already has aspirations to go into engineering, just like his parents, Olowokere beams. “The goal is for them to do as good as us — if not better,” he said. Olutoye put it another way.
“The typical saying in a Nigerian household is that the best inheritance that a parent can give you is not jewelry or cash or material things, it is a good education,” he said. “It is expected.” PHDs: Is higher learning helping Africa? Ejike Okpa II, a Nigerian in Dallas, Texas analyzed the craze for higher degrees and says it gets one good employment only. Economic empowerment is about ownership and control, as opposed to a plethora of degrees and certificates that often end up costing more to obtain than the spill-over benefits to the greater community in the form of job creation and sustainable employment base.
This is a debatable proposition though. There are examples of some highly educated people impacting the greater community by doing what they have passion for, doing the heavy lifting – hard work and dedication and applying entrepreneurial efforts, rather than regurgitated knowledge/lessons acquired because one was patient to have gone through the attendance requirements, paid the fees and scored minimum grades to earn a paper.
PHD – Permanent Head Damage.
PHD – Passion Hard-work Dedication.
MBA – Minor Bank Account.
MBA – Major Bank Account.
The above is satirical to denote that education has mostly not delivered for the black race. Of the 5,000 major influential world global corporations for example, hardly any has roots in Africa. In a recent survey and ranking of world universities and colleges, only a few universities in two African countries made the list. Another notable challenge: Many black institutions in U.S. and Africa hardly have any endowment, and basically run on thin resources.
“In 2007, there were over 1.9 million black owned businesses in the U.S. That number is growing rapidly. According to the U.S. Census, the average black owned business grosses about $72,000 per year. This is below the national average for other minority businesses, which gross an average of $179,000. In addition, non-minority firms gross an average of $490,000 per year.”
No Nigerian university has any endowment to speak of, and of all the clamour and glamour of wealthy Nigerians, none of them has stepped up to endow any faculty or school in a Nigerian university. Rather, they will give millions to build or support churches and mosques, just like black folks do in U.S.: Build mega churches but create no jobs. Unemployment is highest in African-American communities, and despite many that claim to be rich even enjoying the rare rank of billionaires, the trickle-down effect is marginal.
Rich African-Americans have no significant workforce economic impact as can be seen with entertainers and athletes, the highest earners in the African-American clan, but a group whose collateral impact is often imagined than quantified. Of all business enterprises/ companies formed in Texas by African-Americans, more than 70 per cent are for non-profits. This begs the question: Whose profit are they looking for before they make theirs? Small businesses, the largest employer in U.S.: Convenience stores, restaurants, handy-man services, construction services, African-Americans are least represented. In Dallas for example, there is no African-American 3-5 star owned restaurants.
Of all gas stations and conveniences in black neighbourhoods, less than five are owned by African-Americans. Majority are owned by immigrants. Without a bank in U.S. owned by African-Americans worth a billion dollars, even with a yearly consumption value approaching a $1 trillion, and many communities lack community banks or viable credit unions, playing in U.S. competitive economic arena becomes like one pulling a tooth with a toothpick. Access to capital is a limiting factor, and one is further limited if they own no financial institution to provide credit.
According to U.S. Department of Commerce, ethnic minorities have on the average less credit access than Caucasians. Credit/capital is the juice for labour to make goods. And when Africans-Americans are lent capital/credit, they are most likely to end up with higher interest rate payment than most; a stifling and choking proposition. Therefore, to be considered a significant player in the world global economic order with domestic presence, prayers will not cut it. One must own their own financial institutions and extend credit to their community and constituents. Africans/Blacks must quit being seen as players and migrate to referees, in which role, they call the game fair or foul.
It does appear folks will work for others’ establishments Monday-Friday to devote their man-hours, Saturday they rest and on Sunday, they pray for strength to continue again M-F. Blacks would rather go work for the government or non-black owned company than theirs, just like Africans will prefer working for multinational corporations than nurture theirs into a multinational company. In today’s Nigeria/Africa, many multinational corporations do not allow Nigerians/Africans access to the same set of amenities! You got the gist!! Here are some statistics –
Blacks in U.S. are the most to graduate with Ph.D., but often create the least economic impact and benefits for their community. Most blacks with MBA, rather go work for someone or corporation than actually own a business. Most blacks end up teaching others how to graduate with business education but never muster the courage to go out and own one for themselves. So the question is, if education is seen as an enabler not necessarily an equalizer, how come for blacks or Africans, the outcome of their education appears less than? Does this stretch the notion that equal opportunity as in education, does not mean equal outcome?
Since labour (skilled and unskilled) is seen and considered the most viable/critical of all factors of production, and blacks and Africans rather give others their labour, can this be the reason for the less than outcome? Until certain fundamental approaches/attitudes /culture in the manner Africans/blacks conduct their affairs are structurally altered for positive outcome with unapologetic stride and drive to elevate and depart from the squalour and door mat situations, the dance and song in the square about educational titles, are just that – clamour/glamour with little substance. Now go take on the day: Shelve the degrees and cultivate PHD – Passion Hard-work and Dedication.

Transgender beauty contestant loses out on Miss Universe Canada crown
The 23-year-old ousted 50 other contestants to make it to the final 12 contestants before failing to make the final five in the glitzy pageant.
26-year-old Sahar Biniaz claimed the crown and now advances to the international Miss Universe competition in December. Talackova was however one of the four contestants named Miss Congeniality.
Controversy sparked up some months ago when Talackova who underwent a sex change in the past was initially denied entry to Canada’s pageant because she was not born female. Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe Organization, subsequently overruled that decision last month and allowed the Vancouver, British Columbia native to compete following protests on the internet.
The 6-foot-1 blond beauty, who towered over her fellow contenders while competing in the bikini and formal wear contests, garnered most of the attention Saturday night, soliciting loud cheering and howls each time she appeared on stage.
‘She’s still a winner as far as I’m concerned. She won an ‘herstoric’ civil rights victory and that I think is frankly more important than anything, any victory she would win, even representing Miss Canada’, Talackova’s high profile lawyer Gloria Allred told The Associated Press.

Nigerian Lesbian & Gay group hold rally to protest anti-same sex laws: PICTURES
Nigerian LGBT’s in Diaspora Against Anti Same Sex Laws held a rally outside Nigerian Embassy in London, UK to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
The rally was held on Thursday May 17th 2012 with the Theme- “We Are Family- Freedom to Love for all Nigerians”.
Speakers shared personal stories and experiences of Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and a letter was delivered to officials of the Nigerian High Commission.
A former student activist of the OAU, Ile-Ife, Yemisi Ilesanmi led the protest. She said a position paper on the Anti-Same Sex Marriage bill currently pending before the Nigerian legislatures had already been sent to the Nigerian Legislative organ and the Executive.
Gay activists in Nigeria seem to have been emboldened by President Barack Obama’s recent endorsement of homosexual relationships, P.M.NEWS can reveal.
In a press statement sent to P.M.NEWS yesterday, gay activists called on the Nigerian Federal Government and National Assembly to revisit their anti-gay stance and legislation for a better society.
The National Assembly had on 29 November 2011 criminalised relationships between same sex couples, but gay activists remained silent until after President Obama endorsed such relationships on 9 May 2012.
The activists under the aegis of Narconon Nigeria argued that punishing gays or lesbians because of their sexual orientations is inhuman.
They disclosed that they held press conferences in Lagos, southwest Nigeria and Abuja, Nigeria’s capital recently and resolved to speak up.
“Every citizen deserves the right and freedom of association and choices,” Mr. Ibrahim Kunle who issued the statement on behalf of Narconon said.
“Nigeria has not in any way recorded a case of criminality attached to the activities of same sex in the society.
“Many critics based their argument against the practices of homosexual on the passion for religious extremism.
“To take it a little further, for something to be considered wrong in even the most primitive society, the onus of proving harm should be on the accuser.
“Since gays and lesbians do not cause harm to the society as a whole or other individuals within that society, there is no issue of right or wrong.
“In Nigeria today, same-sex sexual activities is illegal according to Chapter 21, Articles 214 and 217 of the Nigerian penal code and can be punished by imprisonment of up to 14 years throughout Nigeria.
“Narconon Nigeria describes this as inhuman and unfair justification to the persons involved in the same sex activities,” Narconon said, adding that it is a non-governmental organization involved in the fight against drug abuse, human rights abuse and crime.
The activists called on the Nigerian government to leave gays and lesbians alone and focus on the fight against insecurity and poverty.
“Narconon Nigeria believes the government needs to pay more attention to insecurity (terrorism & kidnapping), economic instability, corruption, education, health, unemployment, drug trafficking and abuse, organised crime etc.
“The country has gradually fallen into the hands of criminal gangs, who as ubiquitous as they are, are mushrooming at alarming proportion, while the government seems not to be paying attention to the rapacious consequences they are wreaking and could wreak on the society at large. The government seems not to be interested in real reforms,” Narconon said.

KokoMaster D’banj Signs Davido to His New record Label?
Dapo ‘D’banj‘ Oyebanjo has signed to his new (yet unnamed) record label the fast rising pop star David ‘Davido‘ Adeleke
NET investigations confirmed the signing took place on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the 19-year-old’s house in Lekki after a five-man meeting involving D’banj, his manager Abisagboola ‘Bankulli’ Oluseun, Davido, his manager Asa Asika and father Deji Adeleke.
After the signing, both acts and their crew members then headed out to the weekly Industry Nite at the Oriental Hotels to celebrate. NET had earlier reported D’banj making his first ever post-Mo’Hits public appearance at the weekly gig where he gave a surprise performance with artiste of the night Ikechukwu.
We’re still working to get details of the deal particulars, but sources say talks started weeks before both acts met in the US. D’banj and Davido were both spotted at the famous strippers joint - Diamonds Of Atlanta Gentlemans Club in Atlanta.
Davido’s manager when contacted however played down the news of the signing insisting that both parties are still in talks. ‘We are still in talks, that’s all I have to say for now, it could take a day or a year‘, Asa Asika told NET in a phone conversation.D’banj’s camp was yet to respond to our E-mails as at the time of filing in this report.
D’banj recently signed to Mercury Records UK through the G.O.O.D Music label imprint.Davido had until now remained an unsigned act but has in the past year risen to A-list status with just three singles out.He now joins D’banj’s younger brother KSwitch on the label which, according to insiders, will be affiliated to Island Def Jam Africa.

Confession of Yoruba-born Boko Haram Leader “We planned to invade Lagos”
Thanks to the timely intervention of the Joint Task Force (JTF), the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic sect would have unleashed terror of unimaginable proportion on Yorubaland particularly Lagos State had their leader in South-West, Muhammed Sulaiman not been arrest last week.
National Daily competent source disclosed that the Boko Haram South-West leader who was arrested at Farawa Babbam Layi, Maiduguri Road, Kano and now facing interrogation at the headquarters of State Security Service (SSS), Abuja has allegedly confessed that he is the coordinator of a planned attack on strategic places in Lagos and other parts of South-West Nigeria. He allegedly listed a five star hotel, Tafawa Balewa Square, a popular church and market on Lagos Island and a new generation mega-bank as targets of their planned onslaught.
The Ogbomosho, Oyo State born terrorist was quoted as saying that: “We decided to move our attack temporarily from the North to the South starting from Lagos. We realized that Lagos is Nigeria's most important commercial city; events that happen in Lagos have more impact than anywhere in the country. If we hit Lagos, Nigeria will shake; imagine if we had carried out our plan to bomb churches in Lagos,” an informed security source quoted Sulaiman last weekend, adding: “We had identified some important locations where we will hit in other to gain maximum attention. We listed Tafawa Balewa Square, a busy market in the Island, popular churches, hotel and a new generation bank. We wanted to start bombing Lagos.”
National Daily gathered that after the successful attack in South-West locations, the group will now move to the South-East launching their attack in Enugu before targeting other cities in the South-East zone.
Boko Haram redefined
Sulaiman gave further details of the next stage of their terrorism plans. He claimed that “they have infiltrated some places in Lagos where they now have their agents working for Boko Haram. Boko Haram is not strictly a Hausa or Northern Group par se, it is an Islamic consciousness group made up of Muslims from across the country. Some Boko Haram members are Yoruba, Ibo, Ijaw even Efik.
Sulaiman said the sect decided to take the attack to the South in order to prove that Boko Haram is a national movement, not a Hausa militant group par se, our security source said.
It was further disclosed that Sulaiman confessed to have arranged for certain instrument of violence to be moved in a discrete manner from the sect's hideout to some identified strategic locations in the South-West. He claimed his men were all but ready to strike before he was arrested by security agents.
“Sulaiman said Boko Haram planned to give Lagos and other cities in the southern region hell. He claimed that what happened in some parts of the North would have been a child's play compared to what the seat planned to have in Lagos,” our source said.
It would be recalled that a caller to an African Independent Television (AIT) phone-in programme, who claimed he was speaking for the Islamic sect allegedly issued a 72-hour ultimatum after which the sect would attack Abuja and Lagos State. The caller to the phone-in programme, which was broadcast on Friday last week had demanded that President Goodluck Jonathan personally and unconditionally meet with leaders of the sect in Yobe State to discuss terms of a ceasefire failing which Boko Haram would unleash more terror on Abuja and Lagos State.
However, in a seeming reaction to the caller's statement on AIT, a statement allegedly from Boko Haram has disowned the caller as an imposter.
Grand plot
Expressing displeasure at the arrest which he considered unfortunate, Sulaiman said the plot by the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram, to carry out violent attacks in the southern part of the country has probably been frustrated by security agencies.
The sect, he explained, had chosen some southern cities such as Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Onitsha and Warri for attacks.
National Daily gathered that following sustained attacks on the sect's strongholds in Borno and Yobe states by security agencies, Boko Haram members had dispersed to other parts of the country.
Sources said that the sect, which had carried out several devastating bombings and gun attacks in Kano that claim over 185 lives, was looking beyond the North in its future terror campaign.
One of the reasons for spreading its operation to the South, it was learned, was in order not to limit its campaign to an ethnic agenda.
Security source said that there is the likelihood that some sponsors of Boko Haram are Southerners.
Source said that the mastermind of the Christmas Day bomb attack on St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, Kabiru Sokoto, was sighted in Lagos after the incident.
It was gathered that security agencies were leaving no stone unturned in studying the moves of the arrested terror suspects and drawing probable inferences from them.
“It was not a coincidence that Sokoto, who had been on the wanted list of the police before December 25, was sighted in Lagos.
“His presence in Lagos was not for fun. This is one of the angles security agencies are working on.
“I think the group has noticed that security is not tight in the South and there have not been bombings. They are out to cash in on the laxity,” a source said.
The Senate Committee on Police, which probed the escape of Sokoto from custody, had last February said that the suspect was seen in Lagos on December 13.
The committee chairman, Senator Paulinus Nwagu, had, while presenting the report of the probe said, “Police intelligence revealed that prior to his arrest on January 14, 2011, Kabiru Sokoto had been on the wanted list of security agencies.
“Sokoto was reported to have been noticed within the vicinity of Snake Island, Lagos, and left Lagos sometime on December 13, 2011 and disappeared from surveillance monitoring until January 11, 2012.
“He was later traced to Abaji in the Federal Capital Territory.
“Police detectives traced him from Abaji to Abuja on the same date and further traced him to Asokoro, Abuja, where he was finally apprehended at about 0240 hours (2.40 am) on January 14, 2012, at the Borno State Governor's Lodge at Iro Dan Musa Street, Asokoro, Abuja.”
Enemies within
Intelligence report had revealed that Boko Haram sympathisers had moved to the South, from where they coordinated operations of the sect in the North.
It was learned that the sect decided to shift to the South in order to divert the attention of security agencies, which are on the trail of its members in the North.
“Since the heat has been turned on them, they have been moving to Lagos and other cities, where they mix with unsuspecting northerners residing in those cities.”
He said that the sect's plot to attack the South was aimed at further creating the impression that there was instability in the country. “You will observe that activities of the sect are ebbing due to unrelenting efforts of security agencies. But Boko Haram is also devising another method. This time around, it is looking at ways of attacking the South.”
However, the security source said, he lamented that security agencies would have recorded more successes, if not for pro-Boko Haram elements in the Presidency. He said: “Some people, who are sympathetic to the Boko Haram cause, are frustrating security agencies' plans to “deal a final blow on the sect.”
President Goodluck Jonathan on January 8 had said that the sect had infiltrated his government.
“Some of them are in the executive arm of government; some of them are in the parliamentary/legislative arm of government while some of them are even in the judiciary.
“Some are also in the armed forces, the police and other security agencies. Some continue to dip their hands and eat with you and you won't even know the person who will point a gun at you or plant a bomb behind your house,”the President said.
Red Alert
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Raji Fashola, had pulled down three places of worship near the seat of government at Alausa because of incriminating security reports against the sect.
“There is security alert all over the country, not only in the South-West; the so-called plan is something we don't expect them to execute before we take proactive steps.
“Security agents are aware of their advanced plans and are nipping them in the bud.
“The southern Muslims have value for human lives; they know that nobody can fight for God. They are not inconsiderate. The Muslim leadership in the South are putting their members on the alert; imams are already doing that,” a leader of the Muslim community was quoted as saying.
The Federal Government recently offered to dialogue with Boko Haram, the Islamic fundamentalist sect.
“Government is ready to discuss. History has proven that even wars that are fought for decades, at the end, are only concluded by dialogue,” Vice President Namadi Sambo reportedly said.
Sambo spoke in Abuja at the national symposium organised by the Nasirul-Lahi-Faith Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) on “Islam and peaceful co-existence in a contemporary multi religious society”.
To negotiate with the sect, the government may enlist the assistance of traditional rulers, according to Defence Minister Haliru Bello, who spoke while receiving the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria; Roberto Colamine, in his office.
“The concern of the government is peace and what the government is doing is for the benefit of all Nigerians,” the Vice President said.
Sambo lamented the activities of some negative forces whose actions have portrayed Islam in a negative and evil light, saying: “Islam is a religion of peace; it is a way of life. It cannot promote senseless killings and wanton destruction of property. I am not aware of any religion in the world that encourages unprovoked and relentless attack on other people.”
He reiterated the determination of President Goodluck Jonathan's administration to provide adequate security for the lives and property of all Nigerians and visitors.
The Vice President highlighted the strides the administration had recorded in achieving the objectives of the Transformation Agenda which, he said, cut across improved electricity supply; education; agriculture, transportation system; and poverty alleviation.
He hoped that the activities of militant groups would not jeopardise the government's desire to propel Foreign Direct Investment (FDIs).
Describing the security challenges posed by the sect as temporary, the Minister stressed that the challenges were restricted to a few local governments in the North-eastern zone.
The minister assured the envoy of President Goodluck Jonathan's desire to make the difference in governance, in line with the administration's transformation agenda.
He said a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Nigerian and the Italian governments was awaiting the Federal Executive Council's ratification.
According to him, the MOU would enhance Nigeria's peace keeping efforts.
The Ambassador had called for dialogue in the resolution of Nigeria's security challenges. He agreed with the Minister that the ratification of the MOU would strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, has urged the Muslim Ummah to champion peaceful co-existence and education.
He also called on religious leaders to be mindful of their utterances so as not to overheat the polity, adding that aggrieved groups should embrace dialogue.
The Sultan dispelled rumour that there are plans to islamize Nigeria.
“If there is such plan, I should know because I was once in the military. We should trust ourselves. I wish to assure Christians that we are one big family created by Allah,” he said.
Lamenting that impunity has become the order of the day, the Sultan who co-chairs the Nigeria Inter-religious Council (NIREC) with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Ayo Oritsejafor, urged Muslims to promote peace and mutual co-existence in line with the Holy Quran.
“We must promote moderation and toleration in our society. We must equally open effective channels of dialogue with all segments of the society, including those who hold contrary opinions to that of our own.
“Islamic civilization both here and elsewhere is predicated on the promotion of learning not only in the religions sciences but also in Science and Technology. The conflict between faith and science did not originate in the Muslim world. Muslim civilization bequeathed to the world the study of Science and Technology. The time has come for Muslims to strive harder to reclaim this golden legacy.
National Security Adviser (NSA) Gen. Owoye Azazi recently stated that economic woes created a fertile ground for the recruitment, indoctrination, brainwashing and training of terrorists and other insurgents.
Speaking on the theme “Northern Nigeria, the prosperity agenda and national security” at the Northern Impact Summit organised by the Arewa Transformation and Empowerment Initiative Gen. Azazi also said lopsided economic development is capable of causing the collapse of a nation.
He noted that even though bombings and terrorist attacks have been concentrated in the North, they have adversely affected the nation's economy.
Gen. Azazi said the nation cannot afford to leave any of its states or region behind in the march towards a long overdue achievement of prosperity. He said comprehensive regional economic transformation is at the forefront of the nation's policies.
Security sources said that Sulaiman was originally offered the number two position in Boko Haram's hierarchy but was eventually not considered because of circumstances he refused to admit.
The suspect, who was arrested with his wife and five children, allegedly confessed that he was involved in the manufacturing of explosives and allegedly accepted the ownership of an AK rifles, one pistol, 10 improvised explosive devices and 1,000 pieces of live ammunition.
Sulaiman and members of his family were paraded before reporters in Kano before he was taken to Abuja where he was detained. He faced a team of SSS officials for preliminary interrogation. Security sources, said he looked disoriented and appeared to be jittery during interrogation session.
However, he was said to have pleaded with the security agents to release his wife and children who he said were not involved in his activities. He allegedly confessed to having been involved in some notable Boko Haram operation in the North and further stated that he is the coordinator for the planned Boko Haram operation in the South-West.

Europe-Based pastors Advise Pastor Adeboye To Step Down As RCCG General Overseer
pastor enoch adeboye |
It was alleged that about 20 pastors from the branches of the Church in Europe met with the revered man of God in his International office at Redemption Camp, KM 46, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, Mowe, Ogun State, to advise him to resign so that a younger pastor could be appointed to head the church.
The reason given by these ambitious men of God was that since Pastor Adeboye has clocked 70 years, it is normal for him, according to what obtains in the church, to retire.
The pastors cited the case of the four Assistant General Overseers of the church, Pastors M.O. Ojo, Ilori, Aderibigbe and D. Ojo, whose retirements were announced at the conclusion of Minister Conference on Sunday, August 8, 2010.
Investigation by us, however, revealed that Pastor Adeboye could not retire from the position of the General Overseer of the church yet, as the position is not political.
A leading member of the church who spoke with us this morning said it is God who will nominate the successor to the office when the time comes.
Our source, who did not want his name mentioned, said further, “the founder of the church, Pa Josiah Oluwafemi Akindayomi, did not appoint a successor because he was 70, rather, the successor, Pastor Adejare Adeboye was appointed when the time came for him, the founder, to go and meet with the Lord.’
A pastor of the church (name withheld) wondered how some people could be thinking that way, “when all of us are seriously praying to God to grant our father (Pastor Adeboye) long life, good health and strength to continue the good work he’s doing for the Lord.”
He further said the position of the General Overseer of the Church is not for the highest bidder or the most erudite pastor; rather, it is God who will appoint the most qualified pastor when it is time.
Pastor Adeboye had told his faithful in one of the services not too long ago that his successor is still in drinking joint, that is, the fellow is yet to give his life to Christ or he is still a baby Christian.

Surprising Food everyone thinks is Healthy, but can actually make you gain Weight
Surprising food everyone thinks is healthy, but can actually make you gain weight
It’s bikini season so many of us are opting out of our occasional indulgence of fried potato chips or chocolate cake, choosing healthier options instead —or so we think! Many foods that dieters eat can actually cause weight gain instead of weight loss. Make sure you’re noshing on the right foods to keep you feeling full, fit and healthy!
1. Granola
Filled with super healthy nuts and oats, granola gets a tasty twist when oil and sugar are added to make it crisp and sweet. It might seem healthy, but this faux diet friendly food is one you should definitely avoid! Many other cereals are way more healthy and weigh in with half the fat and sugar content as granola.
2. Dried fruit
This came as a shocker to me! As a frequent dried mango muncher, I was dismayed to learn that these wrinkly little fruits can have nearly four times as many calories as their fresh counterparts! Plus, many are loaded with sugar. If you’re craving fruit, stick with the fresh version instead….they’re just as sweet and way more healthy!
3. Juice
Many juices are loaded with carbohydrates, some with the equivalent of five slices of bread! Most of these carbs take the form of sugar — about twelve spoonfuls. When looking for fruit juices, make sure they list only fruit (not fruit concentrate) as the ingredients.
4. Bran Muffins
Because they’re made with oats and sometimes fruit, bran muffins look like they could be a healthy alternative to, say, a cupcake. But looks can be deceiving and these fatty culprits are filled with butter and sugar and are really no healthier than a slice of cake. You’re better off having some whole wheat toast with honey.
5. Half and Half
A little splash in your coffee may seem harmless, but be careful! Just a few spoonfuls ranks in at about 200 calories and nearly as much fat as a big pat of butter! Try soymilk for a low-fat way to make your coffee creamy and delicious.
6. Wraps
Many diet aficionados opt for a wrap instead of a sandwich. They’re making a grave decision though- many restaurant wraps spread out at nearly a foot in diameter, so you’re consuming way more carbohydrates than you would with two slices of whole wheat bread. Plus, with the added surface area you’re more likely to increase the amount of cheese, mayo or fattening sauces you add. Opt for bread for an overall healthier alternative to the giant tortilla.
7. Rice Cakes
Ah, the dreaded rice cake. These are a staple in many weight watchers pantries but the crunchy cakes are no where near healthy. Though they might be fat-free and low-cal, rice cakes are simply an empty calorie. With no fiber or protein to keep you feeling full, you’ll end up eating just as much later in the day, regardless of your rice cake snack. Try snacking on some wholegrain crackers with peanut butter for a filling alternative that’s also short on calorie content.
8. Sushi
A sushi night out with the girls seems like the perfect light dinner when you’re on a diet, right? Filled with veggies, protein rich fish, and seaweed, sushi gives the illusion of being a low cal-but-delicious dinner for dieters. But beware! These bite-size Japanese rolls can be loaded with fat and calories! Those yummy spicy sauces you like to douse your California roll in? LOADED with fattening mayo. The salty soy sauce that is a must-have at any sushi bar? SUPER high in sodium, which causes bloating. And watch out for tempura! This fried crunchy coating goes straight to your thighs! Instead, pick fresh sushis which aren’t fried, and use creamy sauces sparingly. Opt for a tuna roll with veggies and use a tiny bit of soy sauce for flavor. You’ll still be satisfied at the end of the meal!
9. Bottled Teas
Many teas are good for you, but the bottled kind if usually full of sugar (often times they have as much sugar as soda)! Limit your intake of bottled tea, or steep your own tea for a fresh drink.
10. Frozen Diet Dinners
Although these meals promise to be low in calories and fat, their health quotient is close to zero. To make up for the lack of fat, they’re packed with sodium which will cause you to bloat. Steam your own veggies and grill your own meat for a meal that’s fresh, healthy, and way more delicious!
11. Salad
Salads seem like the perfect meal for anyone looking to slim down for summer, but be cautious! Many dressings, even some vinaigrettes, are filled with fat. Make a salad with fresh lettuce and veggies, and add some olive oil and red wine vinegar — it’s just as yummy as the caloric pre-made dressings, but has way less fat!
Knowing where the hidden fats are in our foods is the first step toward a healthier, more fit lifestyle!

Breaking: Don Jazzy Launches New Record Label Called Mavin, Signs Tiwa Savage to Label
Don Jazzy, former Mo’Hits Founder, launches new record label. Here is what Don Jazzy had to say about his new label:
“I see Mavin Records being the power house of Music in Africa in the shortest possible time. I know Rome wasn’t built in a day but with a lot of hard work, a good and God fearing team, our friends and fans, TV houses, radio stations, press, bloggers and most of all with God on our side, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
I definitely won’t forget my past because I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. I know there are questions unanswered, mysteries unsolved, wounds to heal but I would really appreciate if we allow time to heal the wounds for us all instead of digging them up again.
I love and respect the press and bloggers a lot and believe they will play a major role in healing our wounds and allow the forward movement. I would love to thank everyone that contributed in making Mohits records as successful as it got. We wouldn’t have done it without you all. The love and support you have given us thus far is definitely not in vain. You all helped create international superstars and none of us will let you down.
It is going to be a very exciting journey from here. I can’t wait to show you guys all we have planned for you all. We have some other Mavins that are not activated yet still under construction that I’m positive you are going to love. Please open up your hearts, lend us your ears, give us your love and support as always and let’s continue to entertain you. Please don’t forget to visit. www.mavinrecords.com and join the fan club “MAVIN LEAGUE” for exclusive news, music and gifts.

Group set to start pornography movement in Nigeria
LAGOS, - A German-Nigerian firm, AgroVulce says it will start a recruiting and structuring process into launching Internet and Movie pornography in Nigeria very soon, Ascology News can confirm.
The group indicated its readiness to launch a major pornographic website only featuring Nigerian porn stars and productions as well as get involved in local porn movie productions; a selection process is on the way to select and recruit cast members and porn actors, it said.
The AgroVulce group says it will partner with foreign investors in their bid to achieve a sustainable growth of the sector in the longest period of time. It also cited claims that most ‘African American’ porn cast members are Nigerians, further adding that Nigerian girls who travel outside the country to engage in illegal occupations (specifically prostitution) could earn ‘honest’ living in the country.
In a press statement retrieved by Ascology News, its publicity director, Emma Okoye said, "We believe in the right to unlimited freedom and the freedom of Nigerians to watch whatever increases their morale, spirit, energy and positivity."
"Although we are aware of the moral challenges that face us in a country like Nigeria, but we hope to spearhead the industry despite the challenges ahead and we are sure of overcoming them especially when you consider the fact that 70% of online users between 18-34 visit porn sites at least a month" Okoye added.
According to experts, the porn industry is estimated at $20 billion worldwide despite growing challenges for global restraints and actions against the industry and a total stamp on child pornography.
A legal expert speaking to Ascology News, Thomas Oluwole-Coker said such a move will meet high legal and technical challenges in Nigeria.
"This is surprising because be it Porn made in Nigeria or outside Nigeria, society in general frowns as such and the law is against it. The technical aspect that surrounds the legal aspect is that there is no adequate law preventing pornography in Nigeria as it is alien to us in the first place." Thomas Oluwole-Coker said.
"Still on the technical aspect, if you produce a porn movie (Nigerian or Foreign) it cannot be sold publicly as that is illegal, but if sold privately and Nigerians are involved, such person faces absolute scorn, condemnation and social stereotype in typical Nigerian society”.
The demand for online pornography is without doubt huge and magnanimous as site publishers rake in an estimated $1.2 billion annually. Sex.com sold at $13million in 2010 was listed as the most expensive domain name of all time according to online statistics from Compete. Porn.com was listed third (3rd) on same list and was sold at $9.5million in 2007.
The group however gave no further indication on its proposed plans and refused to divulge information on selection processes of cast roles or on any of its implementation plans.

D’banj and Don Jazzy News goes on American hiphop site
The typical pull-him-down trait of Naija is playing out in this D'banj-Jazzy fued. Just some hours ago, an American hip hop website published this. Why can't Nigerian support each other on the way to the top? Or maybe we just love pulling one another down. Its a shame

Nollywood star Ramsey Nouah quits acting
Popular Nollywood actor, Ramsey Nouah has revealed that he is quitting acting after being in the field for about 20 years, although he noted that he is not abandoning the movie industry entirely.
Ramsey hinted that he would go into directing.
“I think I’ve had my fair share. To my fans and loved ones, I know they’ll always want to see me on screen but as they say,It’s best to leave when the ovation is loudest.
“I want to leave a very strong legacy. I believe I have left a very strong imprint in that line.
“There’s no possible way you can mention ‘Nollywood’ without mentioning Ramsey Nouah.” Ramsey Nouah said in an interview with nigeriafilms.com.
“I’ll be going behind the scenes. I’ll still be acting a bit here and there, but it will phase out for directing eventually.
“For a while now, I’ve not really been on the screen, and that’s because I don’t want to act just because I want to be on TV.
“I only want to be associated with the kind of movies that are poised to take the industry to another level, which is where we are headed now. Plus, I want to focus on working behind the scenes.”
Ramsey has starred in several movies such as Private Storm, Dangerous Twins, Figurine which won him an award as best actor in a leading role at the AMAA 2010.
Nigerian movie industry you mean?
Well, to me, there is only one movie industry, and that is the Nigerian one. That’s my opinion, of course, because I know a whole lot of people are targeting Hollywood. But for me, I’m not keen on getting into Hollywood. I’m of the opinion that ‘Nollywood’ will get to a point where it will be very big sometime soon. Don’t forget, most of the people targeting Hollywood are doing so because of the pay, and then maybe the fame on a much bigger stage. For me, however, I think the fame I already have on the platform of ‘Nollywood’ suffices.
Are you quitting acting?
I think I’ve had my fair share. To my fans and loved ones, I know they’ll always want to see me on screen, but as they say, it’s best to leave when the ovation is loudest. I want to leave a very strong legacy. I believe I have left a very strong imprint in that line. There’s no possible way you can mention ‘Nollywood’ without mentioning Ramsey Nouah.
So what’s next for you?
Well, I’ll be going behind the scenes. I’ll still be acting a bit here and there, but it will phase out for directing eventually. For a while now, I’ve not really been on the screen, and that’s because I don’t want to act just because I want to be on TV. WHY WE ATTACKED THISDAY – BOKO HARAM via PREMIUM TIMES
The extremist sect, while claiming responsibility for Thursday’s attacks, says more bombings are coming the way of the media
The Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram, says it attacked THISDAY Thursday to send a strong message to the media that it would no longer condone reports misrepresenting it in the press, or blaming it for acts it knows nothing about.
Abul Qaqa, spokesperson for the sect told Premium Times, in an exclusive interview, that his organisation was fed up with the deliberate misinformation being peddled about it in the Nigerian and foreign media.
“We have repeatedly cautioned reporters and media houses to be professional and objective in their reports. This is a war between us and the Government of Nigeria; unfortunately the media have not been objective and fair in their report of the ongoing war, they chose to take side,” Mr. Qaqa said.
He identified three instances where he claimed his group was deliberately misrepresented by the media. The first, according to him, was the rumour of his capture by the Nigerian intelligence agencies.
“Some reporters are aware that I am Abul Qaqa, they know my voice through our long interactions and they also know the role of Abu Darda who heads the enlightenment committee and sometimes facilitates interviews; yet they (media) go by the unsubstantiated view of government that Abul Qaqa is in custody and I am the new spokesman or number two,” he said.
Premium Times had continuously reported that Abul Qaqa was not arrested contrary to reports and that it was Abu Darda, another member, that was arrested.
The second misrepresentation, according to Mr. Qaqa, was the reporting on the kidnappings of foreigners in the Northern part of Nigeria.
“Another issue was the recent kidnappings in the north; we were clear with our position as a group during a teleconference with reporters but we were shocked the next day when newspaper headlines added a lot of things which I never said during that interview.”
The third example, Mr. Abul Qaqa said, is the mistranslation of the video the group posted recently.
“Another example is the recent video posted on YouTube by our Imam; I challenge every Nigerian to watch that video again. There is no place our imam either said he will crush President Jonathan or issued an ultimatum to the government in Nigeria; but nearly all papers carried very wrong and mischievous headlines.”
When asked why THISDAY appeared specifically chosen for the attack, Mr. Qaqa said THISDAY’s “sins” are more grievous.
“It is not only THISDAY that has been engaged in negative media campaign, fictional stories and constantly promoting fake stories by the JTF to give an impression that they are making headway against us yet there is no time the media investigated further as an objective and responsible bystander in this war.
“But the sins of THISDAY are more,” he said.
“They once insulted the Prophet Mohammed in 2001 and we have not forgotten. They recently said our Imam executed me which is false. Here I am speaking to you, I am alive and healthy.”
Expect more media attacks
The group’s spokesman further warned of more attacks on the media.
“We have just started this new campaign against the media and we will not stop here, we will hit the media hard since they have refused to listen to our plea for them to be fair in their reportage,” he said.
Mr. Abul Qaqa also said his group would give further information on biases by the media.
“In the coming days we will give details and instances where the media have not been fair to us and why we are going to attack them as well.”
Media should be neutral
“The media in Nigeria are not a problem to us if they will do their job professionally without taking sides,” Mr. Abul Qaqa said.
“But each time we say something, it is either changed or downplayed. But when our enemy says something even without logical proof, it is blown out of proportion.”
“We have repeated asked some reporters to retract some stories or even give us the right of reply but none of these requests were given to us.”

why you should never take nude pictures of yourself
It seems like there's a trend now. Some of you might have seen naked photos of Nigerian girls splashed all over the internet; from Twitter to Facebook to blogs. Some girls apparently take naked photos of themselves with their phones, they lose the phones, some people find it and threaten to expose the photos if they don't pay a certain amount of money. This BB chat, exclusively obtained by CKN Nigeria, is between student Miss Solaja (her nude photos are online) and the person who found and exposed the photos.
Shouldn't this be a crime? And dear girls, stop taking naked photos of yourselves...it might get in the wrong hands.
JJC 419 SQUAD LAMBASTS D’BANJ “I EVEN GIVE YOU GIRL, 419″ (INTERVIEW TEXT)
Okay this is the ish right here, I watched this video on Nigezie.com where JJC just said the worst that could be said about anyone really but this time about D’banj. While he tried to be nice to Don Jazzy, he actually said a few not so cool things about him too but D’banj was at the end of the missiles. I was so jobless I had to write out the words for you – I was actually very tired and cut 2 hours out of my planned 5 hour sleep to do this but if you enjoy reading it then it’d be worth it. Make sure you see the video though. The D’banj-Don Jazzy war just got expanded because even Wande Coal was “implicated”
Interview below unedited:
What’s up this is JJC, aka Mr. skills, aka baba gbogbo won (means “their father”), yes, this is what you call the exclusive and the reason it’s the exclusive is because I don’t normally talk about this but today I saw an article on the internet which absolutely took off the gag. I developed Big Brova which got signed to Sony and then blew up then started doing JJC then I started 419 Squad which was a squad of people that was speaking Yoruba and rapping and singing. Along the way, MP brought a guy called Dbanj to my house and D’banj came as normal up and coming artiste will normally do “baba please, your name, you are big, please, help me.” Yeah, of course, like the mugu, mumu button activated JJC, I introduced him to my band, what can you do? He sang, I said “argh, that’s not really goo” and I said “hey duh, the harmonica that you play is really good, let’s work on that one and develop your style. Along the way another guy called Kas “fimile” brought Don Jazzy to my house. Don Jazzy at that time was playing for Solek as a piano player and all that tungba music stuff in London. And D’banj and Don Jazzy now was working with me. The thing that upset was the article said that they were working 4 years and didn’t get anywhere. You tell me where you could be? I took all of them to Womag which is the biggest African world stage there could be. We were performing at every show and anything that was happening JJC and 419 was doing it. We were the top of the game and a lot of people can actually testify to that. What are you crying about? I didn’t pay you to come and perform? You were nobody, nobody knew you so why would I pay you to come and perform? I was giving you an opportunity, giving you a platform to come and perform so I don’t understand that. Number two, the article said something about how I cheated Don Jazzy. Don Jazzy?! Cheated Don Jazzy? How come Don Jazzy didn’t say that for himself?
Wande Coal “implicated”
You tell me what he said that I cheated him. I taught him how to produce which made him Don Jazzy that he is today. I used to pay him a thousand pounds every month in 2004, which was almost 250k for being a trainee.
Now I come back to Nigeria to come and do Awooof and I see Don Jazzy, D’banj. Don Jazzy was even talking to me, D’banj was carrying himself like a super star. Yes he has made something of himself and salute to the music that Don Jazzy made, salute to the lyrics that Don Jazzy wrote cos I know from Mobolowowon all the way all the way na me and Don Jazzy write am. Now the rest of the songs that followed I’m sure Don Jazzy wrote it. And if na lie let me hear, even Wande Coal don tell me say na Don Jazzy and him dey work for the records. (at this point implication by Tuface plays as a picture of Wande Coal is shown and I could not but wonder what that’d mean as he now has to grant his own interview)
…and now what, because you are Mr. D’banj eh eh koro koro ko ko you think you are God, you call yourself Jesus of Nigerian music. I paid them to learn how to become better themselves so that you can become someone big and then you turn around and be slandering my name? ki lo nse e now?! (what is wrong with you now?!)
You have the mouth, the mouth, to say it after you don eat my food, sleep in my bed, eh eh (as he places his right hand on his head as if to say “I don suffer.” I even give you girl, you are the one that was the bad seed in the box and then and that’s so obvious. You know what, truth is truth, if you wanna hear the truth it’s truth, listen I am against 419 squad, that’s JJC against 419 squad. Now within my team, people like “Dbanj? And whatever they were other names were 419ners and I didn’t accept it that’s why we had so many clashes. The reason why we even wrote the song “Mobolowowon” was because he was running from the police. Yes, it’s good to glamourize and make it all fun but the reality was it was affecting his career. Now when he came to Nigeria he did good job based on one thing, the fact that Don Jazzy was standing behind him. If D’banj wants to mention my name he should just say “thank you.” Because truly you will not have the Fela swag if not for me. You will not have the right beats if not for Don Jazzy, you will not have lyrics if not for all of us. So when you hear our name or anyone say “what about JJC, what about D’banj eh Don Jazzy you should go “Ah, those guys, na babas” that’s all I ever ask from you. All I ever ask from you is respect.
